The best way to accelerate your dancing is to practice what you learn in class. There are several different forms of practicing. One of the best ways is to attend a class that has dancing afterwards. When you practice what you have learned right after the class, you have a better chance of remembering it. You can also find a partner and set up times in between classes where you practice together.
If neither of these are an option for you there is always “shadow dancing.” Use an imaginary partner and practice the basic foot patterns and turns.
